PALM BEACH. The elegant little plaza where this fountain rests sits in a widened area of South County Road. Guarded by tall palms, the coral-stone terrace includes both a stepped water feature and a lower reflecting pool, surrounded by clipped boxwood gardens. On the upper level, a large, circular, tiered fountain boasts finned, web-hooved horses rearing up and supporting a basin on their backs. Four urns on pedestals are set around it, and two lower ones feature fountains at their bases. Although the terrace is diminutive, it's a lovely centerpiece for this stretch of Palm Beach. The area was designed by renowned Palm Beach architect, Addison Mizner.
